Minister visits Bower Hill

Ardent was delighted to have the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage Darragh O’Brien visit our Bower Hill Development for the official opening of our affordable housing units. 

Minister Darragh O’Brien was accompanied by officials from his housing department, and many local politicians including Westmeath County Council Cathaoirleach, Cllr Liam McDaniel and Athlone Moate Municipal District Mayor Cllr. Louise Heavin 

The Minister visited six housing projects across South Westmeath. The Bower Hill development yielded 10 of the 105 total social and affordable housing units in Athlone and Moate. Three families have moved in out of 10 in total , the first occupier of a home under the Affordable Purchase Scheme in Bower Hill , Venkat Venugopal, his wife Janani, and their son Vidhuran were present at the ribbon cutting ceremony.

Ardent was honoured to be picked as the first local authority Affordable Purchase Schemes to be launched by the Westmeath County Council. Ardent look forward to working with Westmeath County Council on future developments in the Athlone area.

The Bower Hill development is now in the final few months of construction with 40 units to be fully occupied shortly
